Tai Chi lessons are held every Thursday from 19.00 till 20.30 at the Bujinkan Malta Dojo by Glenn Buhagiar. Below is an insight on his view on Tai Chi:
"Tai Chi has given me a different perspective to life. In these seven years I have been practicing it, it has taught me the healthy way to live, while being in touch with nature and most important with my inner self."
But what exactly is Tai Chi? In a nutshell, Tai Chi is the moving meditation. Through the flowing body movements and the deep breathing that accompanies it, you can achieve a fulfilling experience: tranquility of mind, muscle relaxation and the release of stress and tension accumulated through our hectic lifestyles. Tai Chi then helps you to get back to your life responsibilities with a fresher, clearer and focused mindset.
Tai Chi is also very beneficial to the immune system, where it has been demonstrated that it boosts such system, making your body more resistant to disease. It also enables you to be in the here and now, thus helps you to focus on your present tasks and activities, without thinking about the past or worrying about the future. Tai Chi is also beneficial to people who wish to lose weight in a healthier way, since a considerable amount of calories are burnt with every hour of Tai Chi. The greatest thing about Tai Chi is the fact that everyone can practice it, whether you are young and especially if you are elderly person. In fact, Tai Chi has been found to be essential for older persons, since it helps them to improve balance and their ability to focus. Consequently, it helps to prevent certain injuries or accidents such as falls.
